Each morning, Valerie Grace wakes up before anyone else. She generally prepares a plate of leftover meat on her own in the microwave, then waits for me to wake up. She loves to help me make breakfast. This morning, she requested crepes (which she pronounces "crrrrgrapes"). Here she is mixing the batter....

And here she is cutting up the fresh strawberries that will go inside the crepes.
While cutting the strawberries, the man who comes by each Friday to sell us choclo (corn) was outside the gate. Valerie jumped at the chance to go out there and purchase the choclo. I couldn't help but take the camera to the door and watch her. She was so sweet and asked for 'un dollar de choclo por favor'. The man handed her the bag of choclo and she gave him two fifty cent pieces.
And she carried them into the house like such a little lady.
She then came back in and set the whole table for breakfast. She and I then ate alone together (as everyone else was still in bed :)

how sweet! Sounds like my little sister, Amanda. Only she prefers cereal! Thank you for sharing.
