The 7 sweet things that awaited us in Ecuador

While these little bunnies were a cute surprise, the greatest surprise that awaited us was two new girls showing up at church this week. They are from the family that another church member had noticed as a new family in Sacha Runa a few weeks ago. A mom with 5 girls and no husband. The church body went out - just the locals - door to door asking people how they could pray and what their needs were. When the girls showed up at church, they were dressed in stained clothing, but you could tell it was their best (long dresses). The girls said that they heard us singing in church and their mom dressed them up and sent them down while she watched the younger ones. To our delight, a "regular" at church encouraged everyone else to pitch in for shoes for the girls. We then had brought down girls clothing despite being told none were needed. So today, Maria is sorting through 30lbs of girls dresses, pants and shirts to take over to the family this weekend - she said the Lord knew the need, as the community had no clothing nice enough to give. The way we work donations is we give them to someone in the church and then they donated them through the church. We all want the community to see that the church is there to help and that all of these things come from the Lord, even when handed over by man. Another little girls showed up at church dressed from head to toe in Valerie Grace's clothing and shoes that she had outgrown.

Lots of joys from the Lord - things making me very thankful that I came back this week.
